VAKYA VRTTI (In-person and Online)
Wednesdays 7 – 8:15 PM
Vakya Vritti is a brief, powerful text by Adi Guru Sankaracharya that teaches the precise method to unlock the meaning of the essential Upanishadic teachings, particularly of the statement “tat tvam asi” (“That thou art”). Its core teaching is that you, the individual (jiva), are non-different from the supreme reality (Brahman). It helps the aspirant grasp this universal equation of oneness by looking beyond the surface meanings of the words “thou” (your body-mind) and “that” (a distant cosmic principle).

Bhagavad Gita
(In-Person and online)
Sundays 8 to 9:15 AM
The Bhagavad Gita is a unique scripture, which teaches both yoga and Vedanta. It offers guidance for living a balanced life while performing our duties and facing all types of situations, and it helps one gain a clear understanding of his or her own Self, the limitless consciousness.
We continue our “deep-dive” into these universal and timeless teachings and their application in and implications for our lives. Until now, we’ve studied the nature of the individual and the scope of self-effort. In November 2025 we will commence studying chapter 9; this and the following chapters highlight the nature of the macrocosm, how to meditate on and worship Ishvara or God, and the importance of self-surrender.
